MEET THE CHARACTERS
Tay
Taylor "Tay" Casper Michaels is a 17 year old girl who recently moved to New York City who is learning to let go of various insecurities she's obtained through toxic friendships from her old hometown, Atlanta, Georgia. Tay is half Persian and she loves her culture, but hasn't found that some of her "friends" are so accepting of it and she often used to get made fun of for mentioning Persian traditions and foods in conversations. Tay just wants to fit in, but finds so many obstacles in her way.
Axil
Axil Noah Aaronson is a 14 year old boy who spends his time between the Netherlands where his father lives and Kansas City, Missouri where he lives with his grandparents and older cousins. Axil's mother passed away when he was a baby and his father had to move back to the Netherlands for a better income, but insisted that Axil grew up in the United States. Axil goes to the Netherlands to be with his father every Hanukkah, which often feels like his safe place as due to his upbringing being very different from the kids at schools’, he has bullying and lots of insecurities and uncertainties. He has grown to love football and watches the Chiefs whenever he can.
Liam
Liam Hayami Imai is a 18 year old boy from the suburbs of Nashville, Tennessee. He focuses a lot on school and plays lots of instruments too. But he has desires to play sports and maybe even try bodybuilding, his American mother has no problem with that but his Japanese father insists that he focuses on his academics and is worried for his future. Liam feels trapped between pleasing his parents and his own happiness, he is even getting bullied at school about his limited knowledge on sports.
Jabari
Jabari Eliza Osei is a 19 year old college student from Chicago, Illinois. Her mother is Swahili and father is from Ghana. Jabari has always been loved by the people around her but has been facing some bullies in recent years as an effect of current events and political swings in the nation. She has always been insecure about her curly hair and height, she is around 6 foot , way taller than her friends. She loves track and field and is a collegiate level champion in the pole vault.
Dea
Dea Eve Bernat is a 25 year old woman who recently completed her masters' degree in Providence, Rhode Island where she is doing her first job. She is of Balkan descent but is unsure of which ethnicity exactly as her father grew up in America with Balkan roots that he is unsure of and her mother passed away when she was 6. She was unaware of what country her mother is from in the Balkans, but knows that her mother named her. Growing up without a mother was hard on Dea, Dea grew to be very insecure about things like her looks and being able to listen to others as she didn't have a mother figure to help her.
Leif
Leif Hansen is a 22 year old college student originally from Irvine, California. All his life he has been referred to as "any other white boy" which he believes had given him some sort of status all his life as he has never really experienced adversity as a major issue, but his endless insecurities make him wonder deeper things about himself and maybe even make him regret a few of his past actions. He has European parents and his family immigrated to America from Norway when he was 4 years old.
Belle
Belle Andrea Tullo - Evans is a 12 year old girl originally from New Rochelle, New York, but now spends her time between Brooklyn, New York and Newark, New Jersey. Her parents have been divorced for years which why she had to leave her life in New Rochelle when she was 8 and divide up her time between Brooklyn and Newark. She really misses her old home and her parents being in unity. She has felt very lonely since their divorce, not knowing who to trust. She's pushed some of her childhood friends away due to the insecurities she has accumulated over the years and doesn't seem to fit in at her new school. Her mother is Italian and her father is American.
